All writing in this Substack is copyrighted by me (a person named Clarissa Gale, more or less) unless stated otherwise. All characters created by me are also copyrighted by me. Minor characters are potentially usable with permission, but the major characters are like children to me, so don’t even ask. No, not like children, but like art that I have worked very hard on - because that’s exactly what they are. So don’t go drawing a mustache on my Mona Lisa! Please.
It is my hope and dream that other writers will start to populate Four Ways World with characters and societies of their own. That is why I call Four Ways World a “copylefted” framework. Copyleft is an informal term that implies that the copyright is not as absolute as a copyright normally is. That doesn’t mean that there isn’t any copyright at all. If a lawyer comes along who is willing to help me write a proper copyright statement, I will welcome that help. If not I will eventually come up with one myself. The primary provision is that writing that uses Four Ways World must acknowledge my copyright and this Substack, and not include copyright statements that imply a copyright to creations that are previously copyrighted by me.
For example:
Characters and story copyright Hercule Poirot
Four Ways World copyright Clarissa Gale, fourwaysworld.substack.com
Oh, also, locations and features that other people add to Four Ways World are covered by my Four Ways World copyright in effect when they are published or otherwise released. Neither the creator nor I can place additional restrictions on them after that time. At least, I THINK I can do that. Lawyers? Hello?
Be respectful, play nice, and none of this is likely to cause any problems for you.
